Famed during the industrial revolution as the “wool capital of the world”, Bradford has since evolved into a thriving and diverse economy. There is now a large financial sector, with FTSE 250 company Provident Financial PLC being based there, as well as the headquarter of the Yorkshire Building Society. As well as being the centre for numerous big businesses such as Morrisons, Bradford is also the home of many youthful entrepreneurial start-ups.
If you need a moment of quiet contemplation then you can visit the Bradford City Park, which has recently received multi-million pound investment so as to provide a beautiful public space with several water features and pieces of public art. Or if you really need to get out in to the fresh air the moorlands of the South Pennines lies close by.
