The city is by the mystical heartland of the druids, from ancient burial chambers, to the not so ancient 19th century faux-medieval Penrhyn castle. For the adventurous there is all manner of outdoor pursuits from hiking and climbing in the mountains of Snowdonia, to surfing along the coast.
